Hillside Victory Community Garden

The Hillside Victory Community Garden has been awarded four vacant lots from the Mayor to revitalize, beautify the neighborhood, grow organic vegetables, flowers and educate children using life skill programs (healthy eating/healthy living) involving urban gardening. Our Kick Off 2010 year will host one butterfly teaching garden, one flower garden and two vegetable gardens. The inter-generational members of the club have met on a monthly basis over the past year to plan the four gardens. Additionally, the garden members are planning various educational programs and activities for the community to engage. The garden has been endorsed by the Girls Scouts Heart of NJ. The harvest of our vegetable garden will be donated to the NJ Food Bank.
